Welcome Home Theodore Zachary

I have safely delivered our latest addition of the little people in the house - on the 27th Dec 2008 at10.35 pm. It was a long labour as compared to the 2 siblings. The blood sign came at about 10.30 am and hubby called MIL to take care of the other kids. We went off as soon as MIL reached our home - well they say the third one usually faster.

I was admitted at Damai Specialist Center at about 12.00 noon but contraction was not strong and regular. Dr L. came and checked at about 2 pm and asked if I agree to get induced with pitocin or just wait. Well since we are already there and hubby is very eager to meet his son - we agree to get induced.

Unlike Momoi's once the drip is on, it only take 30 minutes and here comes Momoi. Now I believe it's true that every pregnancy and delivery is different - once the drip is on we waited and waited until 6 pm I can still smile and joke about the contraction being not strong. Then Dr L. came to check and said to me "wah still no pain? strong girl ah- good!" So he increased the dose to double 10ml/hr and confidently he said see you later with a big smile.

Again after the dose double, I thought the labour is not going to come and the nurses even said if by 24hrs no labour I might end up in surgery. And that scares me a lot as I've always prefer normal delivery. Lucky God answered my prayer and I began to feel the contraction pain at about 9 pm.

I was wheeled to the labour room at about 10pm and Dr L. came and checked again and declared to the nurses we are going to have a baby in 30 minutes. Huh... finally the pushing part. I was lucky to have my mother as doula (she was my doula for the 2 kid also). Somehow it gives me courage having her around during delivery. Dr L. even joked when I requested my mom to be present - he said "ramai-ramai pun boleh.. hehe".

I remember mom said "Why are you scared? This is not your first time." But deep inside I'm scared I have not enough stamina/strength to push knowing this baby is going to be a big baby as a result of the excessive Christmas feast. When finally I heard baby Theodore first cry, the feeling was beyond relieve that I finally delivered baby Theodore safely. I can't describe the amount of pushing I need to do to get the baby out - but what I can say it was more work than Uaua's and Momoi's. I was lucky Theodore did not wait until New year otherwise I mught have to go for C-section surgery.

So here's a welcome to our little (big) bundle of joy...
