I want this...

This is i-Roomba. With a push of a button, it can vacuum the floors and intelligent enough to avoid falling from stairs and hitting the wall. Read more about it here.

I've seen this product when I visited the Mother & Baby Expo at MVEC 2 years back. I wanted to get this i-Robot thingy but hubby said it'll be another junk in the house. But, this time around I think I'll seriously need this if I'm not getting a maid to do the vacuuming and house cleaning.

Now I just have to find ways to get this "baby" into my arms.

IKEA oh IKEA...

I just love IKEA furniture. I went there few years back with some Sarawakian friends and we almost wanted to buy everything in the store but didn't eventually. If we did, we would be paying hefty fees for the extra baggage.

While I'm looking for chest of drawers for our precious bundle of joy and I found one that I like from the IKEA website. It's just too bad that I cannot do online shopping and have them delivered here.

In the meantime I just want to keep this link just in case I got someone who can help me buy my dream IKEA furniture.

Or I have a choice to get my dream chest of drawers from a local shop here, either ask them to buy from IKEA or custom made one for me or just find one that looks similar. Up to this point I still haven't decided what to do.

Whatever it is, I need a furniture that serve the following purpose:-
1. Changing table (convertible to shelves - grow with your child)
2. Drawers to keep baby clothes
3. Shelves to keep baby toys and books, etc.

Perhaps I will take some time out this weekend to shop around first. Hopefully I'll see something that I like.

Creative Joshua

Last Saturday, Joshua had fun time creating a birthday wish card for his new cousin - Baby Ryan Full Moon Celebration. I asked him to write the birthday wish on a piece of paper before taking my bath and promise him that we will do the craft together after dinner. I was quite surprised to see that he can even spell Momoi's name and later I found out that he got darling hubby to help with the spelling.

So while Momoi is happily dozing, me and Joshua did this...

Joshua has certainly improved his handwriting and even darling hubby is impressed with his work of art.

An Amateur work of art

I had my first attempt to make flower arrangement for Moira's Birthday recently using the crystal bowl I had from our wedding gift. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to shop for fresh flower from the market so I make do with the 2 bunches of flowers (mixed colours) I got from nearby sundry shop.

Initially, I wanted to do white and yellow but I didn't have enough colours, so I mix all three colours I have - white, yellow and purple. Then I ask Joshua to comment...

Me: Uaua... what do you think... lawa (pretty) kah?

Joshua: Hahaha.... bida... (soo... ugly) ooh mama...

Me: Why you laugh out so loud?

Joshua: Because it's really-really ugly....

Me: (pandai juga ni budak komen..../this kid really know how to comment...)
Ok... let me try change.... hmmm....

Fortunately, I had enough purple so I decided to use 2 colours only - white and purple. This time I got 3 thumbs up and Hi-Five from Uaua and hubby and also little Momoi... yay.

My 1st flower arrangment project...

I'm a bird...

I was in Penang last week from 21-24 Jan attending a workshop held at the Paradise Sandy Beach Resort. I didn't manage to go out as the time was quite packed with activities & discussions until late at night.

The beautiful sandy beach at Tg. Bungah Penang

However, while taking a break on the sandy beach I did manage to do something daring the 2nd day with my boss...

Guess what... we went para-sailing!

The instructor telling us how to operate the chute...
see the excitement on our faces... fun eh

And here's the clip...

It was a fun, thrilling and exiciting 6 minutes flying experience. Now I know how the birds feel on the sky. If there is such thing as reincarnation - I want to be reincarnated as a bird...

Bye-bye Breastpump....

Nicely packed breast pump & milk bottles for my future project ;-)

I'm finally saying bye-bye for now to my faithful breast pump after 8 months of milking in the changing diaper's room, meeting room, hotel room, wash room & filling room (basically any room with a private space).

What a newly found freedom for me...
1. I don't have to worry about pumping at the exact time morning, noon & evening.
2. No more leaking milk, painful & swollen breast if I don't do or forgot to do or no time to do no1.
3. I can eat & drink the taboo food - coffee, chilli, liver, black beans & chives (I did eat some chillies & chives while breastfeeding though).
4. I don't have to worry about coming home on time for Moira's feeding.
5. I don't have to worry about keeping stock whenever I have duties away from home.
6. I don't have to carry my ice-packs everywhere I go.
7. I don't have to worry where to store the milk when I'm away from home. (I have even tried persuading the hotel personnel to help me freeze the milk at the hotel's F&B dept fridge against the hotel rule. I was lucky, he finally agreed after reasoning with him.)

Although some mothers continue to fully breastfeed their babies until the age of 2 years, I don't think I'll be able to make such commitment due to the nature of my work. Most of the time I have to work away from home for 2-4 days. I have only been able to keep stock for 3 days supply of breast-milk. There is one time when Moira totally refused to take formula (Mama's milk taste nicer...) and my milk supply was low that it got me worried sick. I'm lucky now Moira is fully adjusted to taking her formula and she is ready to wean from the breast. However, I still breastfeed Moira for her late-night feeding/sucking needs.

Anyway, being able to fully breastfeed my baby for almost 7 months is the most satisfying achievement for me as a mother. Everywhere I go with my pump, bottles & ice-pack bag, I always get the encouragement from other moms who have been through the same experience and respect from others who didn't persevere or didn't have the patience to breastfeed. Personally, I have learn a lot through my own experience with my baby Moira and I would certainly fully breastfeed my baby if I have the chance to do it again in the future.

I'm 100% Mama's Milk
(Moira at 2 months 1 week)

What kind of girl are you?

You are a Brainy Girl!

Whether you're an official student or a casual learner, you enjoy hitting the books.
You know a little bit about everything, and you're always dying to know more.
For a guy to win your heart, he's got to share some of your intellectual interests.
A awesome book collection of his own doesn't hurt either!

Haha... This is what hubby used to tease me. I'm a bookworm through and through... and will dig my head into any books and not care about anything else. I don't watch tv but read books. My mom told me that when I was a little girl, I will not let her rest until she reads the newspaper to me.
